Carcassonne Music Festival
dates: July 2007
Carcassonne, Europes largest medieval
city is an international historic heritage site designated by Unesco. The town is magical.
Time seems to stand still carved in massive stone within the huge fortress surrounded by
triple ramparts. The Carcassone Music Festival takes place every summer among the
wonderful walls of this prestigious Citadel. The international program is composed of
operas, ballets and concerts in this medieval setting. Avignon, the city of Seven
Gates with its Palace of the Popes used to be the residence of the Sovereign
Pontiffs during the 14th Century. Immerse and impressive, it is one of the most beautiful
gothic monuments in the world, an enduring symbol of cultural haven.
