The highlights of the Italian Summer festival season are in the Marche region. The
delightful seaside city of Pesaro features four Rossini Operas this year,
Bianca E Falliero, La Gazzetta, Il Barbiere Di Siviglia and Stabat
Mater with international guest
performers. The lovely hill town of Macerata at the foothills of the Abruzzi mountains,
lies 25 km from the Adriatic coast. There, in the enchanting ambience of the Arena
Sferisterio you can enjoy performances from Verdi, Puccini and others. The town offers many excursion possibilities to nearby Loreto, the Frasassi Caves and the
seaside.
