Your package also includes visit to the Bavarian capital, Munich, hosting Europe's oldest opera festival. Munich's opera history began in 1651 and since then the elegant city has seen many first-time-ever performances, with Mozart, Wagner and Strauss operas among them. These composers are referred to as the "three house gods" and make up for a great proportion of today's program. With the advent of director Peter Jonas, however, there was a slight shift towards contemporary and baroque opera. Festival performances take place mainly in the National Theatre and the Residenztheater, renowned for its Rococo interior. the festival program includes a wide range of performances, works by Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, Wagner and others.

Salzburg Summer Opera Festival Package includes:
