Itinerary;(minimum 4 participants)
Catania
– Palermo
DAY 1. CATANIA
Arrival at Catania Airport. Private transfer to country guest house in
Catania or Taormina area. Welcome cocktail with dinner and overnight.
DAY 2. CATANIA
Breakfast and lunch at country guest house. Depart for Linguaglossa, one of
the many small towns around Mount Etna renowned for its natural and artistic
beauty, as well as for its culinary specialties. Stop to sample the local
ricotta cheese and see how this cheese is made. Proceed to the
wine-producing town of Castiglione of Sicily to visit the year-round wine
exhibition boasting wares from the greatest Sicilian wine producers and to
explore the historical center with its monuments. Wine tasting at the Valle
Galfina wine cellar, which produces Etna Red, White and Rosè Doc. ( Lunch
free ) In the afternoon, excursion to Catania with guided tour of the
historical center, the Cathedral, Via dei Crociferi, Piazza Università and
Teatro Massimo. Back to the farm Dinner. and overnight.
DAY 3. CATANIA
Breakfast and departure to Etna, reaching up to 1.900 meters and visit the
Silvestrian crater
On the way back Santa Venerina, for testing a sample the culinary delights
of Pasticceria Russo, one of the oldest and best cake shops in the area.
Santa Venerina is also home of one of the most important and interesting
wine cellars producing Doc wines, Barone Scammacca del Murgo. Stop to sample
the wines with their producers in some of the most beautiful natural
sorroundings in the area. Lunch at a former noble country home. In the
afternoon, panoramic tour of the “ Lemon Riviera”, with its many famous
small towns, including Acitrezza, Acireale and Aci Castello. Return to farm.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 4. CATANIA - BUTERA
Breakfast and departure to BUTERA, by stopping and visit the Roman Villa at
Piazza Armerina ( lunch free) Proceed and visit “The Tenuta of Principi di
Butera”with wine testing, and proceed to the FARM. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. BUTERA - MARSALA
Breakfast and departure to Marsala with a stop at Agrigento for visiting the
Valley of Temples ( lunch free) Proceed to Marsala, for a visit of the well
known Florio cellar, Accommodation in a Hotel or Country guest house. Dinner
and Overnight
DAY 6 – MARSALA - PALERMO
Breakfast and depart to Palermo. On the way stop and visit the Wine cellar
Pellegrino and the salt mines of Ettore Infersa . ( Lunch free). (
Possibility to stop at Segesta for visiting the temple and ) Visit of the
wine cellar CALATRASI
At San Cipiriello and proceed to Palermo. Accommodation at then Hotel
(dinner free ) Overnight
DAY 7 PALERMO
Breakfast and H/day guided visit of Palermo and Monreale. Lunch and
afternoon free. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant and back to the hotel.
Overnight
DAY 8 PALERMO
Breakfast and transfer to airport and departure - End of services
