Lost Civilization - Peru and the Incas
Itinerary - Based on minimum 2 passengers traveling together

Day 1 Lima. Arrive in Lima. Transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 Lima. Morning city tour including the historical centre of Lima, the Cathedral, San Francisco Convent and the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for the flight to Arequipa. Upon arrival, transfer to selected hotel.
Day 3 Arequipa
Morning guided tour of the city featuring the Convent of Santa Catalina, a fascinating relic of colonial times which remained closed to the public for almost 400 years. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Arequipa.
Day 4 Arequipa/Colca
Departure for a full day journey to the Colca Valley. Several stops will be made for photographing the vicunas in Pampa Canahuas. Arrival in Chivay. Lunch at a local restaurant and accommodation at the selected hotel for overnight. 
Day 5. Colca/Puno
Early departure to the Cruz del Condor to admire the Canyon at one of its deepest points and look at the majestic condors in flight. Transportation from Colca to Puno regular bus service. Evening arrival in Puno , transfer from the bus station to the hotel. Overnight in Puno.

Day 6 Puno
An unforgettable excursion  to Taquile island on Lake Titicaca inhabited by Quechua-speaking Indians. On the way back stop at  the floating Uros Islands where complete villages are built on totora reed. This local community continues to live like the ancestors, the Uros Indians, descendants of the Incas. Lunch included. Overnight in Puno.
Day 7 Puno/Cusco
Leave by regular bus service to Cusco.

Stopovers at Racchi and Andahuaylillas. (entrance to the monument is optional for small fee). Evening arrival in Cusco and transfer to your hotel. Lunch included.
Day 8 Cusco.
Morning at leisure. Aftenoon city tour including the nearby ruins, the Inca fortresses of Sacsayhuaman and Puca Pucara, the amphitheater of Kenko and the Inca baths of Tambomachay..
Day 9 Cusco/Urubamba Valley/Cusco

Full-day excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Stroll and bargain at the artic rafts market of Pisac. After lunch at a countryside restaurant, drive to Ollantaytambo to admire the
magnificence of an Inca fortress.
During the Inti Raymi (16Jun tour departure) you will stay in Cusco for the full day to enjoy the colourful feast of the Inti Raymi at the explanade of Sachayhuaman. Box lunch included.
Day 10  Cusco/Machu Picchu
Early transfer to the station for a 3 hour train ride to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, guided tour of the last cities of the Incas, This citadel, a breathtaking and inspiring sight was discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. Stroll by the archaeological site. Dinner and overnight in a local hotel at Aquas Calientes. 
Day 11 Machu Picchu/Cusco
- Morning at leisure. Afternoon return by train to Cusco and overnight in Cusco.
Day 12 Cusco/Lima
Transfer to the airport for a one- hour- long flight to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to selected hotel. Afternoon visit the gold Museum. Overnight in Lima.
Day 13  Lima
 Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or optional excursions.

Optional Rainforest Tour Extension:
Extension to Puerto Maldonado, the rainforest experience
2 Nights/3 Days
Program for those who take the optional Excursion to Puerto Maldonado:

Day 1 Puerto Maldonado
Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado and after a brief city tour embark in small canoes for a two-hour cruise to the selected lodge. After lunch first exploration of the jungle around the lodge. Full board included
Day 2. Puerto Maldonado
Full journey dedicated to explore the area. Walking and canoe excursions scheduled to see animals in their natural habitats: such as monkeys, giant otters, colorful macaws, hoatzins among many other species. The local guide will instruct you about the local herbs medicine. Full board.
Day 3. Puerto Maldonado/Lima
Return to Puerto Maldonado and immediate transfer to the airport for the flight to Lima or Cusco.

Optional
Extension to the Nasca Lines
2 Nights/3 Days

Day 1 Lima/Nasca 
 Departure from Lima on regular bus service along the Panamaricana Highway to Nasca where you will arrive after the 7 hour bus ride. Overnight.
Day 2 Nasca /Paracas
Morning flight over the famous Nasca Lines and designs etched on the Pampa de San Jose and discovered by the mathematician Maria Reiche in the early 50s. In the afternoon head off to the Peninsula of Paracas. Overnight.
Day 14 Paracas/Lima
Morning yacht cruise to Ballestas Islands. On the return trip the famous "candelabrum" can be seen at the distance. Departure by regular bus to Lima.

February 1: • From Jan 30 to Feb 14 Virgen de la Candelaria festival is celebrated in Puno. On this departure will provide escorting service on 5/02 to the Main Plaza to see the fireworks and enjoy the music and folk dances. On 6/06 will provide instead morning entrance to the stadium for the folk music and dances competition. Afternoon boat excursion to the Uros islands

Apr 12: • Holy Week. Will provide on 18/04 escorting to the procession

Jun 16: • Inti Raymi festival. Will provide on 24/06 a full day journey to Sacsayhuaman to see the festival

Oct 30: • Folklore’s week in Puno. Will provide on 5/11 morning boat excursion to the Uros, then after entrance to see the recreation of Manco Capac and Macma Ocllo legend

Dec 24: • New Year’s Eve in Cusco. On 31/12 will offer a dinner at local
