Prague-Budapest Music Tour 

Day 1.  Arrival in Prague in the afternoon. Transfer to the hotel. The rest of your day is for relaxation to recover from jet lag. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Hilton in Prague.

Day 2. Music tour of the Golden City located in the geographical center of Europe, including the  Museum of Mozart in the Villa Betramka, the Museum of Smetana and the Gothic Prague castle. In the afternoon walking tour of Charles Bridge, the 11th century Old Town Square and the Jewish Town. Dinner at the hotel followed by a Cosi Fun Tutte performance at the Estates Theatre, where several of Mozart�s operas were originally premiered. Overnight at the hotel Hilton in Prague.

Day 3. Excursion to Nelahozeves with visit to the castle and Dvorak's birth place. The rest of the day is free. We can book tickets to additional performances on optional basis. Our suggestions: Carmen at the National Theatre or �The Best of Mozart� at the Opera Mozart. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Hilton.

Day 4.  Full day excursion to the medieval towns of  Cesky Krumlov and Ceske Budejovice. Ceske Krumlov, a protected World Heritage site boasts a mid 13th century castle with an open-air revolving stage in its gardens. Ceske Budejovice, home of the famous Budweiser beer has 236 buildings, which are classified as being of special historical interest, among them the remains of the Gothic fortifications, the unique market square and a multitude of smaller monuments from various ages. After dinner, transfer to the Church of Sts Simone and Juda to a special Vivaldi performance. Vivaldi back in Prague is a fascinating visual early music presentation by the Prague Vivaldi Orchestra, with leading instrumental soloists and singers in authentic costumes. Overnight at the hotel Hilton in Prague.

Day 5.  Morning transfer to the airport to board the flight to Budapest. Arrival in Budapest, transfer to your five star hotel located opposite to bucolic Margaret Island on the left bank of the Danube. Your hotel is a renowned spa with several mineral water pools offering many possibilities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Dinner and overnight at the Thermal Hotel Aquincum. 

Day 6. General and music tour of picturesque Budapest including visits to the Bela Bartok Memorial House, the Liszt Memorial Museum at the Academy of Music and the Museum of Music History, as well as to the Parliament and many other famous sights of the city often called the �Pearl of the Danube�. Tonight, we offer you Verdi�s Requiem with the National Philharmonic Orchestra at the Budapest Academy of Music. Dinner and Overnight at the Thermal hotel Aquincum.

Day 7. Full day excursion to Hungary's most renowned wine-growing region, Tokaj, where the premier dessert wine, the ASZU, is produced among many others. Tokaj is to Hungary what Champagne is to France. It is a place of sloping cobbled streets and faded ocher dwellings with nestling storks and wine cellars overlooked by lush vineyards. Louis XVI, Goethe, Voltair, Browning and other literary figures, has praised Tokaj wines. Beethoven and Schubert also dedicated glorifying songs to the �wine of the kings, the king of the wines. Your wine tasting in the historic Rakoczi  Cellar is followed by a typical lunch at a local restaurant.  Dinner and overnight in the heroic town of EGER.

Day 8. Morning sightseeing tour of Eger, the City of Women, where in the dark era of the 16th century, during the Turkish raids Eger's brave women were defending their castle, an important bastion against enemy attacks. See the castle, the Archbishop�s Palace, the minaret, etc, followed by an organ concert in the imposing cathedral. Lunch at the Valley of the Beautiful Women accompanied by the Eger�s area�s throat-rasping red wine, the �Bull�s Blood�. Afternoon transfer to Budapest. Free time at the hotel. Evening transfer to the Budapest Opera House for a Don Quijote (ballet) performance. Overnight at the hotel Thermal Hotel Aquincum.

Day 9  Free day to enjoy the many possibilities the city can offer. Afternoon transfer to the airport to board the flight back to North America.
