ITINERARY
Day 1 / PALERMO
Arrival in Palermo and transfer to your hotel (transfer is additional cost). Dinner and overnight at your
hotel.
Day 2 / PALERMO SEGESTA ERICE MARSALA
After breakfast depart for Segesta and visit the majestic Temple and Theatre, monuments of
the once flourishing town surrounded by a unique landscape. Lunch on your own in the
hilltop town of Erice. Erice, which is also the seat of the Ettore Majorana Scientific
Centre has fully maintained the fascinating atmosphere of an old medieval village. Proceed
to Trapani, the ancient Drepanon famous for its coral works and salt-pans. Drive through
the Salt Road with its many salt mills and visit the museum depicting the area’s
history. Overnight in Marsala, the city rich in Carthaginian, Roman, Norman and Arab
monuments. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 3 / MARSALA MOTHIA SELINUNTE AGRIGENTO
After breakfast boat ride to the island of Mothia, forty hectares of historic land
surrounded by the sea, once one of the most important Phoenician and Carthaginian
settlements in the Mediterranean. Continue on to Cusa quarry. Lunch on your own
in Selinunte. Visit Selimunte’s Acropolis, then
proceed to Agrigento, the once rich and powerful city of Magna Grecia. Dinner at the
hotel, then coach ride around the illuminated Greek Temples.
Day 4 / AGRIGENTO PIAZZA ARMERINA CALTAGIRONE S.M. GANZARIA
After breakfast visit the Museum of Archaeology and the famous valley of the Temples with
the best preserved Greek monuments in the world, including the Temples of Juno, Concord,
Heracles, Zeus, Castor and Pollux. In the afternoon proceed to Piazza Armenia.
Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit
the famed Villa Romana del Casale, then on to the Baroque town of Caltagiore. Dinner and
overnight in the rustic village of San Michele di Ganzaria.
Day 5 / S.M. GANZARIA PANTALICA-PALAZZOLO ACREIDE-SIRACUSA
After breakfast, leave for Pantalica, the magical and moving prehistoric settlement
in a beautiful mountain region in the Arapo Valley, where an ancient civilization was born
during the Bronze Age. Proceed to Palazzo Acreide, the ancient Greek Colony of Akrai and
visit the Theater. Lunch in a typical river-side restaurant. Proceed to Syracuse. The day
ends with a visit to the famous Archaeological Museum. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6 / SIRACUSA NOTO MODICA RAGUSA
After breakfast, tour City of Siracusa including the most famous Greek Theater, the
legendary Dyonisius’ Ear and the Latomie. Visit Ortiga, the historical town center of
Syracuse, a Baroque treasure built by the Aragonians. Lunch on your own, then continue on
to Noto, one of the most beautiful cities in Sicily renowned for the harmony and unity of
its Baroque style. Stop in Modica, then continue on to Ragusa Ibla, where we will dine in
a local restaurant. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 7 / RAGUSA CATANIA MT ETNA TAORMINA
After breakfast, departure to Catania, orientation tour of the city, birthplace of
Vincenzo Bellini, Sicily’s great operatic composer. Continue on to Mt. Etna,
Europe’s highest and most active volcano. Optional cable-car ride to 3.000 meters.
Lunch your own, then descend to Taormina. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 8 / TAORMINA MESSINA R.CALABRIA TAORMINA
After breakfast PANORAMIC visit of Messina and depart for Reggio di Calabria by hydrofoil. Visit of the museum with the famous "Bronzi of Riace". Continue to Taormina. Free time for lunch on your own. Visit of the Greek Theater . Time at leisure
Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 9 / TAORMINA AREA LIPARI- VULCANO LIPARI
After breakfast, depart for Milazzo . Depart by hydrofoil to reach Lipari the greatest amoung the Aeolian Islands. Visit of the village and possibility of a visit to the Archaeological Museum (optional). Lunch on your own . Continue to Vulcano and visit the village .Return to Lipari . Dinner and overnight at your hotel .
Day 10 /LIPARI STROMBOLI LIPARI
After breakfast free time to enjoy the village. Lunch on your own. After
lunch optional (to be paid locally) excursion to Stromboli with its volcano, and the
Sciara. Return to Lipari. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 11 / LIPARI TINDARI SANTO STEFANO CAMASTRA TUSA
Breakfast at your hotel. Morning at leisure with time for lunch on your own. Embark for Milazzo, then proceed to Tusa, stopping on route in Tindari for a view on the sand-tongues and the old town ruins and small stop in Santo Stefano di Camastra, famous for its ceramics. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Tusa.
Day 12 / TUSA CASTELBUONO CEFALU SOLUNTO PALERMO
After breakfast depart for Castelbuono , a small village in the Sicilian inland visit of the Cathedral and the Castle built by the Ventimiglia family. Proceed to Cefal� and visit of the Cathedral. Lunch on your own. Continue to the archaeological park of Solunto. Proceed to Palermo. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 13 / PALERMO
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning visit the Archaeological Museum and enjoy a nice walk in the historical center of the town visiting the Martorana Church, S. Cataldo, the Praetoria Square and the Quattro Canti. Free time for lunch on your own. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner on your own and overnight at your hotel.
Day 14 / PALERMO
Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning visit the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral, St. John of Eremits and Monreale with its exquisite Cathedral and Cloister. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon
optional visit the Catacombs, Mondello (to be paid locally). Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 15 / PALERMO
Breakfast at the hotel. End of your Tour. Transfer to the airport for additional
cost.
