Follow the traces of Christendoms most important relic, the
Holy Grail and discover Spains Northeast. Visit the important cities
of Barcelona ,
Valencia , Zaragoza and Huesca and remote sites of the utmost
religious significance, such as Montserrat, Jaca, Santa
Cruz de la Sers or San Juan de La Pea. Learn about legends and
traditions, ancient Celtic rituals and myths of the science of
Alchemy... looking back to the times of Cabbala and Arthurian narrations.
ITINERARY 01. Day Arrival in Barcelona Transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight.
02. Day Barcelona In the morning discover
this Cosmopolitan city and cosmopolitan capital of Catalua. Stroll through
its Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, and enjoy architects Gaud works such
as La Sagrada Familia and Parque Gell. Free time in the evening.

03. Day Barcelona Valencia
After visiting the town of Tortossa we will follow our journey along the
Costa del Azahar (orange blossom) to Sagunto where we shall visit: castle,
fortress walls and Roman theatre. Arrival in Valencia for dinner and
overnight.
04. Day Valencia Spains third biggest city Valencia,
will offer us its Cathedral, Iglesia Nuestra Seora de los Desamparados,
Santa Catalina, Santo Domingo, Market of Silk ( La Lonja ), Palaces de La
Generalitat and Marqus de Dos Aguas, the gates of the city: Puertas de la
Ciudad.. . The Cathedral of Valencia shelters an austere Gothic chapel:
La Capilla del Santo Cliz. According to tradition this place protects the
Holy Grail, that was taken from Rome by Peter. Centuries later, the Holy
Grail was hidden in Huesca. During the Arabian invasion the Holy Grail was
kept out of danger in the monastery San Juan de la Pea and it finally
became possession of the Cathedral in Valencia. The Grail made with jet and
precious stones- is considered the authentic one by the fraternity in charge
of its protection. Free time in the evening. Dinner and overnight in
Valencia.
05. Day Valencia Teruel Zaragoza Our route takes us
to the region Aragn, which is closely related to the Holy Grail. We will
visit picturesque villages such as Segorbe and Jrica on the way to Teruel,
bastion of the Mudjar art style. Dinner and overnight in Zaragoza.
06. Day Zaragoza Huesca Jaca In the morning we will visit the former
residence of the Aragonese kings, the city of Zaragoza with its Cathedral,
La Seo , Nuestra Seora del Pilar Spains most important Marian site- La
Alfajera. In the afternoon we will continue our journey to Huesca and Jaca:
its massive and mysterious Cathedral, Spains first Romanesque cathedral
sheltered the Holy Grail. Enjoy the very interesting Archaeological Museum
with Santa Orosias remains -Princess of Bohemia-, which contributed to the
rescue of the Holy Grail in the mountains of Yebra. Dinner and overnight in
Jaca.
07. Day Jaca San Juan de la Pea Santa Cruz de la Sers
Jaca In the rough mountain range Sierra de la Pea we will find the
Monastery San Juan de La Pea : hidden under the reddish crags it was the
site where the resistance against the Arabian invader started. In the
upper floor of this subterranean church we will find the most complete
Romanesque pantheon, the museum and the beautiful cloister will surprise us.
Our next stop will be in Santa Cruz de la Sers : we will enjoy its
picturesque Aragonese houses and remains of its monastery. Santa Cruz was a
very important site of pre-Christian rituals -we will find some of the
chimneys decorated with Espantabrujas (witch-frighteners). We will follow
the Valle del Echo to Siresa with its majestic church San Pedro where the
Holy Grail was sheltered. Return to Jaca for dinner and lodgement.
08. Day Jaca Santa Orosia Montserrat In the morning excursion to the
pilgrimage church Santa Orosia in Yebra and then continue to Yeste and
Triste, Los Mallos and Ayerbe, Barbastro, Monzn y Almacelles to the
monastery of Montserrat. Dinner and overnight.
09. Day Montserrat
The impressive mountain massif of Montserrat is the religious and cultural
centre of Catalua as well as the most important Marian site in this region.
We will visit the monastery and its Black Madonna while we enjoy this site
probably chosen by Richard Wagner as Monsalvat in Parsifal and Lohengrin.
The writer and researcher Ramn Ramonet Riu has found a surprising
similarity between the Arthurian heroes and the Catalonian nobility... We
will end up this day attending the sung Holy Mass in the monastery. Dinner
and overnight in Montserrat.
10. Day Montserrat Barcelona
Transfer to the airport in Barcelona.
